Wild koalas are not renowned for being overly friendly when it comes to interacting with humans but the heat of the midday sun and the promise of a refreshing drink must obviously affect their mood. That was certainly the case for this thirsty little creature on the South-Western Freeway, just outside Adelaide in Australia. The koala was spotted by a group of American cyclists and, as they stopped to get a closer look, the animal jumped on the front wheel of one of the bikes and proceeded to take a welcomed drink straight from the cyclist’s drink bottle. Although native to the country, koalas often struggle during periods of extreme heat and it is not unusual for them to get a much-needed drink by any means possible.
